A guided tour of our 168-acre conservation property adjoining Wyperfeld National Park
The best times for a birdwatching or nature tour are early mornings or late afternoon (times vary depending on the season). During summer we regularly see Malleefowl (listed as a threatened species) feeding at dusk and our water points are popular with parrots including Blue Bonnets, Mulga Parrots and Mallee Ringnecks.
From sand dunes to grassy plains, you’ll see the huge variety of trees, shrubs, wildflowers and grasses that thrive in the Mallee. These plants attract a plethora of animals. In addition to the stunning birds we see a range of insects, reptiles and mammals.
Tours are tailored to your interests and mobility, and all proceeds go towards the ongoing management of the property.
Cost (incl. GST): $60 per person for 2 hours (or $80 for non-staying guests). If you wish to stay and wander or use the bird hides for the rest of the day, it will be a further $60 for staying guests (or $80 for non-guests). Subsequent full days are only $60/$80.

Living in Brisbane, I had a list of target birds l wanted to see and thanks to Michael’s knowledge of the area, I was able to see and photograph 13 lifers in 3 days. It was fantastic. When you add the permanent hide and water source on their bush block and the revegetation areas around the house, there is never a dull moment.
